Prevocational Training

Prevocational Training and Community Rehabilitation services teach people with disabilities proper work habits and pre-employment skills to improve their ability to achieve supported or competitive employment in their community.

With 20+ years’ experience working with person with disabilities, our training services provide and invite learning, interest, creativity and thoughts. They help the persons to achieve the outcomes they want in their life.

Professional Appearance

Our instructors will work with participants to develop skills needed to enter the work place. Starting from the very basic skills, such as how to dress appropriately for work, our instructors will also help participants to develop outstanding resumes, manage time effectively and present themselves in a professional manner.

Modern Communication Skills

Modern communication tools, such as emails, phone calls and/or text messages, may be taken for granted by many people. However, some of these tools may be difficult or intimidating for many people with disabilities. Our staff will break down those skills into manageable segments and help participants learn and maintain the necessary skills to use the tools for the benefit of future employment.

Internet Use

As an increasingly important part of everyday life for people around the world, Internet may be confusing for people with little experience. With this training class, our staff will show the participants how the internet works, how to connect to the Internet and how to browse the Web. The participants will learn how to search and obtain information, to entertain themselves, and to learn new skills through the internet.

Social Media

As an effective way to connect with family and friends, social media has great potential to include and integrate people with disabilities into their communities. With specially developed modules and simple and precise approaches, our staff will work with participants to acquire basic skills to take advantage of the features, tools, and shortcuts available on these free online social networks.  The participants will also learn important etiquette and safety precautions when using social media.

Typing Skills

As a basic skill of office work, typing directly affects the productivity of a business. A fast, accurate typing skill may help an individual become more employable. The PPI staff will work with participants to learn basic typing procedures, if needed, and to improve the speed and accuracy of typing.  The PPI instructor will also show individuals how to reduce fatigue and increase the productivity of typing.

Office Software

This training includes Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications. Tailored to individual levels and learning styles of each participant, our instructor will teach the basic skills and many uses of the Microsoft office software.
